A national telecoms operator recently selected Precision Bridge to support their ServiceNow data replication requirements.
The project involved the configuration of the Precision Bridge Data Replication product to replicate specific sets of data to the customer’s data warehouse. In particular it needed the flexibility to be able firstly create a range of OOTB and customised tables in the warehouse with the same data structure and indexing as on the original in ServiceNow.
Following table creation, the command line version of the product was then used to execute pre-configured replication projects on a nightly basis to ensure that the warehouse was kept up to date with the latest records. Specifically, only modified or new records were migrated each night to avoid replicating large volumes of data where no changes had been made.
Once the data-warehouse was up and running, the customer was then able to use this as a basis for reporting from third-party reporting tools. In this case Precision Bridge was able to simplify the reporting by extracting both the display value as well as the stored value for all reference fields without compromising referential integrity.
The customer was also able to use the data-warehouse as a backup of their critical ServiceNow data so that they could use Precision Bridge to restore to another instance if necessary in the event that their existing instance became corrupted or non-operational.
