Use Case: BMC Remedy - ServiceNow migration

Precision Bridge was selected to automate and accelerate the migration of ITSM data from BMC Remedy to ServiceNow and also selected data from Sharepoint and Clarity applications.

Project Summary:

Capgemini recently used Precision Bridge to deliver a ServiceNow solution that replaced their client’s BMC Remedy ITSM instance. The client’s requirements included the transfer of all knowledge, CMDB, foundation data, CMDB data, software contracts, and two years’ worth of transaction data from the incident, problem, known error, change, request, and task forms including related CIs and work info entries. In addition to Remedy, the requirements included transferring a SharePoint Library to ServiceNow, and Clarity Projects to ServiceNow. Each of the sources contained live and historic data. The live data needed to create viable transactions that would be managed through the complete ServiceNow lifecycle.

Precision Bridge handled it all. It took one FTE two months from start to finish. By the end of two months Capgemini had mapped, tested, and loaded into ServiceNow 15 different transaction types, the associated work info entries, related records, related CIs, related tasks, and all the objects related to the tasks. The volume of data totalled 2.2 million data records that were moved into the various ServiceNow tables.

Following on from this successful implementation, Capgemini now uses the Precision Bridge tool for complex ServiceNow migration projects around the globe. In particular, Precision Bridge is used to automate and accelerate the migration of data from legacy vendor platforms to ServiceNow, to consolidate data across ServiceNow instances and to replicate data from ServiceNow to local database platforms for archiving and BI reporting purposes.
