Nasstar successfully completed a complex migration of three separate ServiceNow instances into a single consolidated instance using Precision Bridge. 

We are delighted to announce the completion of another important project with one of our leading partners, Nasstar. This migration was crucial to unifying multiple ServiceNow instances and streamlining operations for both Customer Service Management and ITSM functions. The goal was to ensure a smooth and efficient transition of data while meeting a tight project deadline of 3 months.

The migration involved the consolidation of data across multiple modules, including Problem, Change, Requests, and Tasks, ensuring continuity of operations across critical functions. With the aid of Precision Bridge, the team was able to execute complex data transformations, such as migrating CSM to CSM records and transforming ITSM records into CSM structures. This also included migrating custom forms and fields.

Additionally, data transformations were performed to ensure compatibility between instances, with some records being migrated "like-for-like," while others, such as incidents, were transformed into new case structures. Precision Bridge's ability to handle complex migrations, including subsidiary tables (e.g., journal entries, user lookups), was crucial in maintaining data integrity.


Although the tool significantly accelerated the migration, Nasstar quickly realized the importance of early planning, especially for the setup and testing phases. Despite pressing a button to migrate data being straightforward, surrounding tasks like project setup, notifications, and testing required substantial time investment. With professional support, the team configured and executed the migration in a phased approach. They started early with test migrations to validate data integrity and applied incremental migration strategies, ensuring minimal disruption to their operations.

Outcomes:
Nasstar successfully completed the migration within the expected timeframe. Precision Bridge enabled them to transfer vast amounts of data with minimal issues, maintaining data accuracy and integrity across all modules. Post go-live, only a few minor adjustments were needed, and the migration process was smooth and efficient.

The customer was highly satisfied with the Precision Bridge tool’s ability to meet their project requirements, and its robust features allowed them to tackle even the most complex data migration scenarios. Nasstar has planned another ServiceNow project in the coming year and intends to leverage Precision Bridge for future data migrations.
