Customer Instance Consolidation Project

A leading global financial institution recently selected Precision Bridge to address their ServiceNow instance consolidation project following the acquisition of another company. The project involved the migration of data from two existing ServiceNow instances onto a new greenfield instance. In particular, the project involved the migration of incidents, problems, change requests, service requests, requested items and related objects including workflow, HR Case and HR Lifecycle records.

Precision Bridge was an ideal tool for this project with pre-built templates for each of the applications including options to migrate attachments, work notes, comments and workflow while maintaining data integrity. In particular, Precision Bridge was able to handle potential conflicts where data was merged from the same application on each source platform to a single application on the new greenfield instance.

By using a tool-based approach, the customer was able to re-execute projects at will or at scheduled times and re-use those same projects when promoting data to their production environment. It also avoided the need to perform any manual data extractions or data loading, development or scripting since all the transformation logic was contained within the Precision Bridge migration projects.

Mark Herring, CEO of Precision Bridge commented: “I am delighted that Precision Bridge was chosen for this project. It underlines the value that our tool can bring to the table by mitigating all the risks and delays associated with manual migration projects. We are seeing increasing demand from customers like this who need to preserve their historical data to enable a first class customer experience and support the deployment of AI utilities which rely heavily on historical data to operate effectively”.
