Precision Bridge Newsletter: Midsummer Momentum
In the heart of summer, we’re sharing fresh insights, practical tips, and resources to help you optimise your data strategy and drive successful outcomes. No matter where you are in your journey, this month’s update is here to keep your momentum strong.
Success Story: Seamless Data Migration from Legacy HPSM to ServiceNow – Fully Automated
A leading global IT services provider approached Precision Bridge to assist with the complex migration of their large existing set of data into custom tables in ServiceNow. With thousands of historical records across various modules for Incidents, Problem, Change, and Service Requests, the client needed a solution that would preserve full data integrity and handle multiple attachment formats. Previous internal attempts have proven extremely challenging and time-consuming due to limited knowledge of the legacy system and it's web services.
Using Precision Bridge’s data migration automation tool, the migration was achieved within a one-month project, including setting up access to HPSM’s web services and ensuring seamless data retrieval. Precision Bridge provided support to the client’s team, helping configure their environment and build out custom projects on the Precision Bridge platform. The Precision Bridge solution efficiently transferred over 200,000 records, including a variety of attachment types and other data ensuring everything was delivered to the new system as specified.

Tech Talk - AI models of Google and OpenAI win milestone gold at global maths contest
Artificial Intelligence has reached a remarkable milestone. For the first time, AI models developed by Google DeepMind and OpenAI have performed at a gold-medal level in the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), a competition known for pushing the limits of human mathematical ability.
As reported by Business Standard, Google’s Gemini DeepThink and an experimental OpenAI system solved five out of six Olympiad-level problems, a score that placed them in the gold-medal bracket - a level typically achieved by only about 11% of human participants.
This is a significant breakthrough because Olympiad problems demand far more than simple calculation. They require creativity, deep reasoning, and multi-step proofs - qualities long thought to be uniquely human. The success of these models shows how far AI has advanced in tackling complex, abstract problems that were once considered beyond its reach.

Tip 8: Migrating Attachments
Transferring attachments can be difficult especially if the source and target platforms are from different ITSM vendors. Attachments can sometimes be extracted to your local file system but there is often no simple way to re-attach them to the corresponding records on the target without writing custom code or scripted transform maps as is the case for ServiceNow.
As a result, there can be a high amount of effort in transferring attachments especially if you have a large number of attachments across multiple applications. Luckily there are tools that can help ensure that attachments are transferred and attached correctly and can save time and effort.
Also bear in mind that objects such as images can sometimes be treated as attachments and can also be embedded in knowledge articles which require special handling.
TIP 8: Review the attachments that should be transferred and use a migration tool that supports the transfer of attachments from your current to new systems.
