What does five years of uninterrupted data archiving at enterprise scale actually look like? For T-Systems International, it looks like millions of records processed every single day, across 350 tables, with a sync frequency of every two minutes — and counting.
T-Systems International GmbH is one of Europe's leading IT managed service providers, using the ServiceNow ITSM platform to serve a large and demanding customer base. The challenge they faced was a familiar one: their customers needed to run reports and access application data regularly, but having users query the live ServiceNow production instance directly placed unnecessary load on the system and required additional licensing to accommodate multiple users.
The solution was to replicate ServiceNow data continuously into T-Systems' own Oracle data warehouse, where it could be accessed freely for reporting and integrated into additional applications. Precision Bridge was selected as the tool of choice, offering purpose-built data replication and archiving capabilities alongside the flexibility to run multiple replication projects in parallel at different frequencies.
Since deployment in early 2021, Precision Bridge has been running reliably in the background, keeping T-Systems' data warehouse in near real-time sync with their ServiceNow environment. Sustaining a mission-critical replication process at this scale requires robust support as well as reliable software. T-Systems have praised the ability to escalate directly to the Precision Bridge development team for request and information, which has meant faster response times and greater confidence in the system overall.
Five years on, the numbers speak for themselves: up to 15 million records replicated per day, across 350 tables, every two minutes. It is a compelling demonstration of what sustained, well-supported data archiving can achieve — and a milestone well worth celebrating.
"We are absolutely delighted to be celebrating five years of working with T-Systems on this use case. It is a testament to the reliability of the Precision Bridge platform and the strength of the relationship we have built together. To be processing millions of records every day, continuously and at scale, is something we are incredibly proud of — and we look forward to continuing to support T-Systems as their data needs evolve." — James Warriner, CEO, Precision Bridge
