Use Case: Moving from an on-premise ServiceNow instance with Oracle to a cloud-based setup with MariaDB

Project Summary:

The migration addressed unique needs—four tenants with ACLs, two Service Portals (VW and Audi), and a focus on Service Catalog, Request Fulfillment, and the Service Portal. The transition also navigated custom workflows and varied database structures.

Key Statistics and Execution: With a 2 Terabyte database hosting 1.2 million users and millions of tasks, approvals, and item requests, the migration utilized Precision Bridge 6.3 with 5 source threads and 1 target. Initially on one virtual machine, the process optimized to 2 VMs, each with 24GB of memory and 6 cores.

Results and Success: Executing the migration with precision, Volkswagon now operates seamlessly on ServiceNow in the cloud with MariaDB. This story highlights the importance of precision, technology, and strategic partnerships in achieving transformative success.
